A lounge chair that blends materials and presence. Built for a
metal fabrication class, its structure comes from a network of
bent stainless steels rods and a tubular steel backbone. This
metal framework creates the open and airy skeleton that has a
large impact on the presence of the chair. It also serves as the
structure for the leather seat and headrest to wrap around. Flex
is an important part of the structure. The metal skeleton has
compliance which allows the leather components to move and adapt
to the user. Spliced Dyneema straps with lashings tension hold the
leather in place.
The presence of the chair changes as
you move around it revealing the complexity of the metal skeleton.
