Strata is a three-sided hammock inspired by laminated race sails. It utilizes load path reinforcement and a laminated membrane to enable greater control over the compliance of the hammock. This process limits material waste and creates the possibility for designing new interactions with the fabric structure.

Early on, a focus was put on the development and process behind laminating the load paths into a fabric membrane. This process enables greater control over where and how compliance is used in the hammock, making it possible to create flat tight surfaces that abut traditional hammock pockets, all combined into a single laminate.
